Evenwood set up Bowl final

Evenwood Town set up a South Durham Charity Bowl final against Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph or Willington WMC in beating Stanhope SSC this afternoon. The only goal of the game came in the 65th minute from Mattie Moffatt. Evenwood had several chances in the first half while Stanhope's best moments came late in the game.
Ferryhill Town won through to the semi final of the Colin Waites Cup with a 3-1 victory over Wynyard The Stables. Steven Clough (2) and Connor Whitelock scored for Ferryhill while Carl Eddon replied for Wynyard. The semi final clash against Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph will be a repeat of last season's final when Ferryhill just shaded an exciting encounter.
The other semi final will be between Heighington and Crook Wanderers after the latter beat Howden Australian 4-0. Scorers Andrew Robinson (2), Toby Longstaff and Connor Box.
Middlestone Moor moved to within a couple of points of the leaders with three games in hand with a 5-1 victory over Heighington. Aaron Jackson, Ross Morrow, Adam Watson, Willis White and Josh Farlow were the Moor marksmen while David Parker replied for Heighington.
Willington WMC also made ground with an 8-0 victory over inconsistant Wolsingham FC. Kenny Wilks top scored with five while their were further Willington goals from Brad Burns, David Knox and Lee Brown.
Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph remain very much in the chase and they maintained their challenge with a 4-1 win at Stanley Town. Ryan Peart bagged a brace and there were further Telegraph goals from Niall Douglass and Mason Steed. Liam Orr bagged the Stanley consolation.
