Superb Evenwood win

The league is assured of a finalist in the Bob Strophair Durham Minor Cup after Evenwood Town won through to the last four today. Gareth McMahon put Evenwood ahead at New Durham but the home side pulled back to 1-1. Penalties looked odds on but with 30 seconds remaining Rob Worthy bagged a matchwinner for Evenwood to set up a home semi final against Middlestone Moor.
Willington WMC kept their title hopes alive with a 5-2 victory over Stanhope Town. The WMC led 2-1 at half time with Charlie Sanderson the Stanhope scorer. Stanhope's second came from Jack Barker and pulled his side back to 3-2 The points though were destined for Willington with Kenny Wilks (4) and Matty Littlefair securing a 5-2 win.
