Evenwood exit cup

The only game to beat the weather featured Evenwood Town in the Bob Strophair Durham Minor Cup. Town made the short journey to Bishop Auckland to take on Wearside League second division side Bishop Auckland Reserves. The match finished 4-4 after ninety minutes with Bishop Reserves shading the spotkicks 5-4. Evenwood led 1-0, trailed 1-3, fought back to 3-3, led 4-3 before conceding an equaliser four minutes from time.
"We were robbed" was the verdict of Evenwood boss Chris Geddes.
