Willington win the Bowl

Willington WMC won the South Durham Charity Bowl with a 2-0 victory over Evenwood at Bishop Auckland tonight.
The first half was evenly contested though chances were few and it was difficult to recall a shot on target during a goal less 45 minutes.
The WMC had the better of exchanges in the second half and were rewarded after 65 minutes when Morghan Claydon found a narrow gap between keeper and post. Willington went 2-0 up on 70 minutes through Kenny Wilks who bundled the ball home from close range.
Evenwood were mainly on the back foot and when they created two clearcut openings late on they failed to test the keeper.
After losing out in two previous finals this season it was time for Willington to celebrate a deserved win. Meanwhile Evenwood will be back in action within 24 hours when they take on Middlestone Moor in the semi final of the Weardale Cup.
