Coundon Cons and Evenwood Town won through to finals today with victories over Stanhope SSC and Howden Australian respectively. Stanhope led Coundon 3-1 in the Alan Britton cup through Ethan Fairless and a Matthew Price pair but the home side fought back to 3-3 thanks to a last minute equaliser. Coundon won the resultant penalties 4-2 and will meet last years runners up Middlestone Moor in the final. Meanwhile Evenwood Town reached the final of the South Durham Bowl with a 6-1 win at home to Howden Australian. Gareth McMahon bagged a hat trick with Rob Worthy (2) and Chris Howe completing the Evenwood scoresheet. Lucas Baker replied for Howden who trailed 2-1 in the second half before conceding late goals. Middlestone Moor await in the final and Evenwood will be hoping to go one better than last year when they were runners up.
