Auckland Cup Day

Middlestone Moor made it through to the last eight of the Auckland Charity Cup with an 11-0 win at Barnard Castle Glaxo Rangers. Ross Morrow and A Watson both bagged hat tricks for the victors with further goals courtesy of Mason Morrow (2), R Porter, Ellis Codd and Scott Maughan.
Sam Green scored four for Stanhope SSC in a 5-1 victory over Wolsingham FC. Vinny Gascoigne-Allen completed the Stanhope scoresheet while Robert McFadden bagged the Wolsingham consolation after they trailed 3-0 on twenty minutes. "Well deserved Stanhope - best team won" said Wolsingham's Nick Elliott.
Willington WMC completed the trio of sides through to the next round with a 5-1 victory over second division Stanley Town. Conor Profit was the Stanley scorer.
The top two met in division two and Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph retained top spot following a 2-2 draw at home to Heighington. Ryan Peart and Glen Hendrix scored for Telegraph while Joe Joyce notched a pair for Heighington.
Crook Wanderers picked up their first league win in beating Wynyard The Stables 6-3. Adam Blair top scored with a hat trick with further Wanderers goals from Paul Bailes (2) and Stephen Kyle. Stables marksmen were Charlie Ellison, Max Thompson and James Horton. Afterwards Fergie commented "Well played Wynyard, great set of lads never gave up"
