Auckland Cup holders progress

Willington WMC began their defence of the Auckland Charity Cup with a 13-1 victory over Crook Wanderers. Michael Hull top scored with four and there were further goals courtesy of Kenny Wilks (2), Jak Crocher (2), Ryan Ward, Ryan Readman, Matty Littlefair, Adam Genner and Lee Brown. Adam Blair bagged Wanderers consolation.
Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph booked their place in the second round with a 9-0 victory over Howden Australian. Jay Rose and Jack Mitchell both bagged hat tricks with further goals from Niall Douglas (2) and Joe Young.
Middlestone Moor go top following a 4-0 win at home to Ferryhill Town. Aaron Jackson and Adam Watson both scored twice for the victors.
After a goal less first half Wynyard took the lead at Stanhope through James Burdon. Stanhope recovered to lead 2-1 through a pair from Ian Peadon and Sam Green wrapped up a 3-1 win with a goal in added time. "They were outstandingly good" remarked Clem "It was a really close game - we beat them 9-2 earlier in the season."
Heighington and Wolsingham went into their game on the back of wins and it was Heighington who extended the run with a 6-1 win. Martin Butterworth (2), Lee Grey, Shane Dodson, Adam Lynas and Michael Condron were the Heighington marksmen. Leon Hopps reduced the deficit.
Teams observed a minute's silence before games in memory of Queen Elizabeth 11.
