The league welcomed back old friends when a reformed Howden Australian FC were accepted as members at the AGM held in Crook Cricket Club tonight.
Resignations were received from Barnard Castle FC and Barnard Castle Glaxo Rangers.
Clubs voted to abolish the two division format of last season and the league will consist of one division of 12 clubs for season 2022/23. Crook Wanderers; Evenwood Town; Ferryhill Town; Heighington; Howden Australian; Middlestone Moor; Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph; Stanhope SSC; Stanley Town; Willington WMC; Wolsingham FC and Wynyard The Stables.
The Alan Britton and Norman Wright Memorial Trophies will continue to be knockout competitions open to all clubs.
The Colin Waites Cup will continue on a knockout basis and comprise the seven remaining second division clubs from season 2021/22 together with newcomers Howden Australian. Crook Wanderers; Ferryhill Town; Heighington; Howden Australian; Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph; Stanley Town, Wolsingham FC and Wynyard The Stables.
Referees will receive a £30 match fee together with expenses at 34p per mile (max £10).
Officials re-elected: Lee Genner (secretary), Clem O'Donovan (treasurer and vice chairman), Charlie Tyers (chairman) and Maurice Galley (president).
All games will kick off at 1.30 on Saturdays with midweek kick offs scheduled for 6.15.
The new season will kick off on Saturday 6 August 2022.
