Stanhope through to final

Willington WMC have held the upperhand in clashes with Stanhope throughout the season but the dales side finally came out on top when the duo met up in the semi final of the Alan Britton Cup.
Stanhope took a two goal lead and led 4-2 at half time before going on to complete a 5-3 victory. Green (2), McArdle, Shuttleworth and Peadon were the Stanhope scorers. "Another great battle that had goals, penalties, missed penalties and red cards " reported Stanhope's Dean Tinkler. Barnard Castle FC await in the final at Tow Law on 14 May.
Middlestone Moor won through to the final of the Auckland Charity Cup with a 4-2 victory at Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph. Ross Morrow, Aaron Jackson, Adam Watson and Mason Morrow scored for the victors with Telegraph replies courtesy of Mason Steed and Reed Molloy. Middlestone Moor will meet Willington WMC in the final at Bishop Auckland on Wednesday night kick off 6-45pm.
Less than 48 hours later on Good Friday the teams will meet again at Tow Law in the final of the Norman Wright Trophy. Kick off 11am.
Second division champions Heighington lost their unbeaten record in going down 3-0 at home to Ferryhill in their final league game. Joe Wilson, Shane Todd and Stephen McCarthy were the Ferryhill marksmen. At the final whistle the column had the honour of presenting the league winners trophy.
