Important win for leaders Willington
Leaders Willington WMC opened up a four point lead in division one with a 5-1 win at Stanhope SSC. Ryan Ward bagged a brace for the victors with further goals courtesy of Johnny Baines, Kenny Wilks and Danny Lee. Sam Green replied for Stanhope. "Well done Willington - we were awful" was the verdict of Stanhope's Dean Tinkler.
Wolsingham's penultimate league game ended in a 3-1 defeat at home to Crook Wanderers. Danny Smith, Ben Richardson and an own goal completed the Wanderers score sheet with Connor Ward reducing the arrears" The best team won" commented Wolsingham's Nick Elliott.
