Willington through to Norman Wright Final

Willington WMC booked their place in the Norman Wright Trophy final with a 3-2 victory at Stanhope SSC. The visitors took the lead in the first minute with an excellent goal from Connor Winter and he added a second ten minutes later. Danny Wright pulled one back for Stanhope before half time but they went 3-1 down to a "very fortunate" penalty from Danny Lee. A 75th minute Ryan Embling header pulled it back to 3-2 but Willington held out when Stanhope pressed late on. Heighington or Middlestone Moor await in the final.
A hat trick from Willis White set up a 7-0 win for Middlestone Moor at Barnard Castle Glaxo Rangers in the Weardale Cup. Other Middlestone Moor goals came courtesy of Mykel Summerson, Scott Maughan, Josh Farlow and Ross Sutherland. The win set up a home semi final against Ferryhill Town or Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph.
Wolsingham FC were 7-1 winners at Stanley Town in the Colin Waites Trophy with Liam Orr bagging the consolation. Jake McKellar notched a hat trick with further Wolsingham goals from Dagan Taylor, Ryan Readman, Tyler Hutchinson and Kieran Raine. In the last four Wolsingham face a trip to the winner of Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph v Wynyard The Stables.
Heighington maintained their unbeaten league record and opened up a five point lead in division two with a 2-1 win at Crook Wanderers. Goals from Shane Dodson and Phil Park secured the points for Heighington while Andrew Cummins was Wanderers marksman.
