Mixed results in Minor Cup

Wolsingham won through to the third round of the Bob Strophair Durham Minor Cup with a 3-2 win at Wheatley Hill WMC. Dagan Taylor (2) and Ryan Readman were the Wolsingham marksmen.
Middlestone Moor are former winners and they booked their place in the next round with an impressive 4-0 win at home to Hurworth Albion. Ethan Grayson bagged a brace with further goals courtesy of Ellis Codd and Adam Watson.
Willington WMC ensured they are in the hat with a resounding 6-0 victory over Gateshead Rutherford Blacks. Wilks notched a hat trick with further goals from Lee, Hull and Comby.
Heighington interest in the competition ended with a 2-1 defeat at Blaydon Community Centre. Sean Carr notched the Heighington consolation.
Barnard Castle Glaxo were another side to lose 2-1. Jonny Foster bagged the Rangers goal in a narrow defeat at Whickham under 23's.
Stanhope SSC trailed opponents Wynyard Village 4-0 at half time and the home side went on to win 7-1. Danny Wright bagged the Stanhope consolation. "We were all over them in the first two minutes" claimed Clem.
Crook Wanderers are also out after going down 8-3 at Wolviston Youth. Adam Blair and Ellison (2) were Wanderers scorers.
Stanley Town suffered early injuries at Birtley Development and they went on to lose 13-0.
Today's winners will be joined in the next round by Evenwood Town and Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph after their opponents conceded.
Brad Wilkinson (2), Luke Thompson, Alex Quinn, Joe Wilson and Kyle Quinn earned Ferryhill a 6-4 win against Wynyard The Stables. A first home league win moved Ferryhill up to second.
