Royal Telegraph the only survivors in Minor Cup

Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph booked a place in the last eight of the Bob Strophair Durham Minor Cup with a 2-1 win at Sunderland Albion. Kieran Maughan and Glenn Hendrix were the Telegraph marksmen.
Middlestone Moor suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat at Wolviston Youth with Adam Watson and Josh Farlow bagging the consolations.
Wolsingham were 5-0 down at half time at Blaydon but the home side were left hanging on at the end as the dales side pulled back to 5-4 through Connor Ward (2), Ryan Readman and Sam McKellar.
Willington WMC are also out after going down 2-1 at home to Spennymoor Town Youth.
Evenwood Town went down 4-1 at Whickham Under 23's with Ashley Fenwick bagging the consolation.
Stanhope SSC won through to the semi final of the South Durham Charity Bowl with a 9-0 victory over Crook Wanderers. Jack Barker bagged a hat trick and there were further Stanhope goals courtesy of Ryan Embling, Michael Embling, Ben Shuttleworth, Dethan Fairless, Sam Green and Declan Coates. Clem reports "A spirited display from Wanderers - Fergie was in goal".
Barnard Castle FC are also through to the last four following a 4-2 victory in the derby at Glaxo Rangers. Rob West (2), Ben Clark and Rob Dixon saw the FC through while Saunders and Linton replied for Glaxo.
Heighington are through to the quarter final of the Weardale Charity Cup after a 4-1 win at Stanley Town. Shane Dodson and Phil Park both bagged a brace for the victors with the Stanley response courtesy of Kieran Wailes. Heighington's reward is a trip to Willington.
