Excellent win for Wynyard

Victory over Wynyard The Stables would have taken Wolsingham into top spot in division two but it was the visitors who came out on top with a 2-1 win. George Mills bagged a brace to give The Stables their second league win. "Great game" commented Wynyard's Mark Ellington.
In the first division the FC and Glaxo Rangers shared the points in the Barnard Castle derby with a 2-2 draw. Ben Clarke and Rob Dixon netted for the FC with Tom Wood and Harrison Saunders the Rangers scorers.
Second division Ferryhill reached the last four of the Auckland Charity Cup with a 2-0 victory over first division Stanhope SSC. Kyle Quinn and Jon Hardy were the scorers. "We had chances but the best team on the day won" commented Clem.
If the column's memory is correct it's Middlestone Moor who are the current cup holders. If so then they kept their hopes of retaining the trophy alive with a narrow 4-3 win at Crook Wanderers. Summerson (2), Barras and Morrow were the Middlestone Moor marksmen. Toby Longstaff, Adam Blair and Danny Smith responded for Wanderers.
Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph won the clash of two second division teams at Heighington 7-2. Lochie Scott (2), Ryan Peart (2), Shane Dodson (2) and Jake Cain scored for Telegraph with Heighington replies courtesy of James Alderson and Jack McKay.
The all first division encounter at Evenwood ended in a 4-0 win for visitors Willington WMC.
