First win for Stanhope

Stanhope SSC picked up their first points with a 3-1 victory over Evenwood Town. Both sides were under strength and there was another outing for Evenwood sec Chris Geddes. Sam Green bagged an opener for Stanhope but Evenwood were level at the break through a Gareth McMahon free kick. Second half goals from Green and Danny Wright secured the points for Stanhope.
Heighington suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat at home to Willington WMC in the first round of the Alan Britton Memorial trophy. Joe and Sam Joyce were the Heighington scorers while Danny Lee (2) and Matty Littlefair scored for Willington.
Middlestone Moor progressed with a 3-0 victory over Ferryhill Town. Anthony Phillipson bagged a brace and Ellis Codd completed the scoresheet.
A Reed Molloy hattrick set up a 4-2 win for Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph at home to Wynyard The Stables. Jack Mitchell completed the Telegraph tally while James Dexter and Atkinson replied for Wynyard.
The Barney derby went to penalties with the FC winning the spot kick shoot out against Glaxo Rangers 9-8. The sides had been level 2-2 after 90 minutes with Jamie McDougall bagging a pair for Glaxo. Gabriel Radu and Thomas Hammond were on target for the FC.
