Stanhope SSC became the first side through to the last eight of the South Durham Charity Bowl with a 5-3 victory over second division Crook Wanderers in an early kick off. Wanderers put up a good fight against their first division opponents and it was only in the latter stage that Stanhope scraped through. Sam Green (2), Peadon, Henderson and Embling were their marksmen while Luke Ellison (2) and Toby Longstaff replied for Wanderers.
There was an incredible ending at Barnard Castle Glaxo Rangers where Shildon Railway progressed 11-10 on penalties. The sides had been level 4-4 after ninety minutes with Jamie McDougall (2), Adam Goodfellow and Callum Spence the Glaxo scorers.Shildon replies from Danny Shoulder, Ian Maddison, Danny Thomas and Kieron Day. "Gutted is not the word" said Glaxo sec Andrew Hall.
Wolsingham's excellent start to the season came to an abrupt end with an 8-2 defeat at home to Evenwood Town. Ashley Murphy bagged four for the victors with further goals courtesy of Will Preston (2), Gareth McMahon and Leon Clarke. Dagan Taylor and Tyler Hutchinson reduced the arrears for Wolsingham.
Bowes booked their quarter final place with a 5-2 win at home to Heighington. Adam Lee Shield notched a hat trick for Bowes and a brace from Rob Dixon completed their score sheet. Shane Dobson and Joe Joyce responded for Heighington.
