Ferryhill shade Aycliffe in thriller

Ferryhill Town lifted the Colin Waites Cup at Tow Law this morning after coming back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to beat Newton Aycliffe Royal Telegraph 3-2.

10th minute - Aycliffe 1 Ferryhill 0 (Alex Pyle).
30th minute - Aycliffe 1 Ferryhill 1 (Kyle Quinn pen).
35th minute - Aycliffe 2 Ferryhill 1 (Jack Oliver).
55th minute - Aycliffe 2 Ferryhill 2 (Alex Quinn).
65th minute - Aycliffe 2 Ferryhill 3 (Craig Bowmer).

There was still time for Telegraph to hit the bar but Ferryhill held out to complete a narrow but deserved win. Both sides deserve credit for a very good final that produced plenty of action at both ends. Ferryhill had been runners up the last time the final was played in 2019.
