Auckland Charity Cup Final - 13 April 2022

By Maurice Galley

Impressive Willington take the trophy

Willington WMC took the lead with a cracking goal from Connor Winter and he added a second on the half hour. Middlestone Moor's best spell came in the last ten minutes of the first half when they twice went close from twelve yards.
In the second half Middlestone Moor had plenty of the ball but they came up against a well organised wall of blue and white shirts that ensured clear cut chances were few. Darren Jackson went closest in the 75th minute when his 25 yard freekick bounced down off the bar and back into safety. Willington's best chances came on the break as Middlestone Moor chased the game.
An excellent performance from Willington- well deserved winners.
